Frequently Asked Questions
I am a paddler...
If you are travelling somewhere, and would like to find a dragonboatclub to paddle with, the best thing you can do is to contact the local dragonboat association or federation. See the EDBF Member’s page for a list of EDBF members and contact details. Outside of Europe take a look at the IDBF Members list.
Keep in mind that neither the EDBF nor the IDBF register individual clubs, that is up to the local/national organizations.
Neither the EDBF nor the IDBF register individual clubs. That is done by the national dragonboat organizations. So if you are looking for a club, the best thing you can do is to contact the local dragonboat association or federation. See the EDBF Member’s pagefor a list of EDBF members and contact details. Outside of Europe take a look at the IDBF Members list.
If we know about the event, it will be on our calendar. If it is an event outside of Europe, you may want to check the IDBF calendar. On the calendar, if you click on a particular event, you will find contact information for that event. Unless it is an official championship, you will find everything we know on the calendar, we do not have more information than that. For specific information it is always best to contact the event organizer directly.
Information about World or Continental Championships is available in the form of Bulletins, issued by either the IDBF or the Continental Federation (such as the EDBF). The first of these Bulletins is released in January of the year of that Championship. These bulletins can always be found on the websites of the IDBF and EDBF, if you click on the calendar item for that Championship to see the details. All documents and links for that Championship can be found there, apart from the news archive. Before the bulletins are released, usually only the race location and the race dates are known.
