Dragon Boat Photo Contest

18 June 2008 - To celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, and in the spirit of Beijing Olympics, My China Page (part of Dragon Page Media) is running the first series of the Worldwide Dragon Boat Photo Competition.

This Worldwide Dragon Boat Photo Competition is open for photographs taken at BDA National League and Cup Races, Euro League and Championships Races in 2008, and also for a number of specific charity races in the UK as confirmed by the BDA in conjunction with Gable Events. The competition is also open for photos taken at IDBF International Races in June 2008, AND in the spirit of Qu Yuan, for all photos taken at any Dragon Boat Festival races at any cities on Double Fifth Weekend around the world (which falls on Sunday, 8th June this year).

This year there are at least 95 days of dragon boat racing in 58 cities across the globe: there must be one taking place near you! So go check them out in our competition calendar, bring your camera along, and capture the spirit, the history, the competition and the drama of Dragon Boat Racing... The European Dragon Boat Federation is a Member of the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) and recognised by the IDBF as the specific Governing Body for Dragon Boating in Europe.
The IDBF is the world governing authority for Dragon Boat Sport and the Member International Federation of SportAccord (the General Association of International Sports Associations) specifically for Dragon Boating. SportAccord is an International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognised sports association.
The IDBF is also an International Federation recognised by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and is a Founder Member of the Association of International Paddle Sports Federation (AIPSF).
